There could be fewer doctors to care for a growing number of patients as coverage under the Affordable Care Act gets underway. Bloomington Doctor John Wieland says that’s because some doctors are preparing to call it quits. He says those near retirement age just don’t want to deal with the hassle adjusting to new regulations and reporting requirements. Wieland thinks nurse practitioners will likely step in and handle much of the care that doctors currently provide.
