ACA Healthcare Enrollment Opens Today

There’squiteabitof confusion about who is and who isn’t eligible for healthcare coverage under the Affordable Healthcare Act. David Elin [[ Ee-lin ]], with Get Covered America, says people should know that they can shop around and choose the plan that best fits their needs.

Elin says there are resources out there to help people understand more about the coverage and what will work best for their family.

Elin explains having healthcare coverage is critical for everyone.

Elin adds getting healthcare coverage will be especially beneficial for those who are currently going without.

The enrollment period opens today and will go through March of next year. People who are currently insured through their employers can shop the exchange to see if they can find a better rate, but they won’t likely qualify for any assistance. College students can shop for their own coverage, or they can stay on with their parents until they’re 26 years old. There are subsidies available for people with low-to-moderate income levels.
