Scholar Athlete Live On WBDK After Accepting Division 1 Full Ride

Connor McHugh joined our audience on WBDK 96.7 FM Tuesday afternoon to share the great news of his verbal agreement to the University of Minnesota swimming team.

The Sevastopol Pioneer will dawn Golden Gopher apparel for at least the next four years as he swims towards his goal, an appearance in the Olympics. 

The Sevastopol senior toured a handful of Division 1 schools, all of which had a full scholarship on the table at one point. McHugh chose the Big Ten school for a number of reasons including what supporters are calling the best coach in the country, amazing facility, and a pool that allows Connor to train at Olympic distances. 

McHugh will be afforded room and board with his own personal apartment, a specialized meal plan, books and lots of Minnesota athletic apparel.
