Rochelle city officials met in special session yesterday evening as the discussion center around current and future electrical projects.

The Council approved a bid of $205,748 as part of the electric system improvements for Nippon Sharyo dealing with their new building known as "Shop 3".

The total project is expected to cost between 1.3 to 1.4 million dollars. The cable for the addition is expected to be energized within 90 days. Nippon Sharyo will have permanent service by mid to late January of next year.

The Council met in executive session to hear an electric analysis and strategic report. This involved the purchase, sale, or delivery of electricity to RMU customers in the future. No action was taken following the closed door gathering.
