Breast cancer event in Rochelle

Rochelle Community Hospital along with Xpressions Salon held their 3rd annual "Get Your Pink ON" event yesterday afternoon.

October is "Breast Cancer Awarness" month as mammography techs were on hand yesterday to schedule appointments.

RCH Foundation and Community Events Coordinator Emily Anaya said that they received great support from businesses and area residents this year. Around $4,000 was raised for the hospital.

Anaya said that yesterday's event was to remind people about getting checked in the future for breast cancer.

Rochelle Community Hospital have other events scheduled for Rochelle and Ashton this month for breast cancer awareness.

Yesterday's party was held for the 1st time outside in the Rochelle Commons parking lot.
