A semi driver maneuvering through fog crashed into a cemetery on State Route 47 near West Mansfield Tuesday morning just before five o'clock.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Frank Mikolajczyk, 57, of Toledo, was driving a 2006 Volvo eastbound on 47 when he lost control on a 90-degree curve about a mile east of West Mansfield in Union County.
Mikolajczyk continued on Newton-Perkins Road, which Ts into 47. The semi went off the left side of Newton-Perkins, then ran over several headstones at Southard Cemetery and brought down power lines.
Authorities had to cut a hole in the rear of the cab to remove Mikolajczyk. He was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bokescreek EMS.
Mikolajczyk, who was wearing his seat belt, was cited for failure to control.
The semi and trailer were heavily damaged.
