Will the federal shutdown impact the city of Dunkirk?

The federal government shutdown is not having an impact on cities that receive HUD funding, at least not yet.  WDOE News reached Dunkirk Mayor AJ Dolce who says they haven't heard of any problems at this time. The city does receive funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program.

Dolce-Shutdown shouldn't effect city in short term

Dolce says city officials will continue to monitor the situation.

The city of Dunkirk's paving program should get underway this week.  Mayor AJ Dolce says they are finalizing the list today.  The city is using a hot-in-place paving project.
