New Official Trailer for The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug

Fans of Middle-Earth musings are getting their first look at what's in store for the next movie chapter of "The Hobbit." 

Warner Brothers has released a two-and-a-half-minute trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" offering a sneak peek of the film, which opens in theaters on December 13th.  "The Desolation of Smaug" is the second part of Peter Jackson's planned trilogy based on the classic fantasy novel by J.R.R. Tolkien.  It's expected to pick up where last year's "Hobbit" movie adventure, "An Unexpected Journey," left off.
