Lodi Man Faces Multiple Charge

Seneca County Sheriff's Deputies, Tuesday , arrested a 36 year old Lodi man on a slew of charges following an investigation that he allegedly held a woman against her will, choked her and repeatedly threatened her. When taken into custody in the Town of Ovid, investigators say William J. Irwin, IV was intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Irwin's list of charges continued to snowball, when investigators acting on a search warrant found Irwin to be in possession of a sawed-off shotgun at his residence in Lodi where investigators also confiscated what they described as a "sophisticated large indoor marijuana growing operation." Sheriff's Deputies dismantled the pot-growing facility and confiscated over 200 pot plants along with a digital scale, an illegal ammunition feeding device and a quantity of illegal fireworks.

By the time investigators escorted Irwin to the Seneca County jail, he had chalked up no less than a dozen criminal offenses; including felony weapons and drug violations; unlawful imprisonment and several motor vehicle-related charges. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is working in conjunction with the sheriff's office on this case and federal weapons and drug charges against Irwin are pending. Irwin is being held on $25,000 cash bail and will appear in Lodi Town Court next Monday, October 7th.
