"Moment Of Truth" For Garrett Bay Road Trees

The Liberty Grove Town Board is set to approve bids to cut trees on Garrett Bay Road at the northern tip of Door County at a meeting Wednesday night.

If the Board accepts a bid, the trees will likely come down soon. Jim Maronek owns land just off Garrett Bay Road and has been trying - along with others - to stop the destruction of the trees and preserve the scenic beauty of the road.

The agenda for the Liberty Grove Board does have an opportunity for public input, but that comes AFTER the acceptance of the tree cutting bid.

The Liberty Grove town chairman did not respond to our request for an interview. The meeting at the Liberty Grove Town Hall is scheduled to start at 7:00.
