The Dock Restaurant Project will move forward for now in Davenport. On Wednesday the Davenport City Council voted in favor of moving forward with the $24 million dollar project that will not only replace the long shuttered Dock Restaurant but also bring retail and office space to the location at 125 South Perry Street; something many residents weren't aware of prior to the meeting. Many attending the Wednesday night City Council meeting wondered if such an ambitious project, that includes $6 million dollars in TIF funding from the City was wise in an area prone to flooding. The council addressed the flooding by adding stipulations to the deal that include approving the height of the building and materials used for the project. Below is a concept drawing of the new Dock Office Project taken from a Facebook page started to promote the project.
