The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that the planned project to improve the Eastern Illinois Railroad Company's railroad crossing, on Illinois Route 133 in Oakland, has been postponed. The project was originally planned for the week of October 7th, but has now been rescheduled for Monday, November 4th thru Thursday, November 7th.
The scope of the project has not changed. IDOT is coordinating with the Eastern Illinois Railroad to improve the railroad crossing on Illinois Route 133 in Oakland. The existing crossing material will be removed and a new crossing will be constructed in its place.
In addition to the schedule change, the Detour route has been revised to use State routes Illinois Route 49, US Route 36 and Illinois Route 130. The new detour plan will route highway traffic away from Oakland and the expected harvest time traffic.
As always, be sure to reduce your speed while traveling through this work zone.
