Psychologists have ruled a 19 year old Prattsburgh teen is competent to stand trial for allegedly kidnapping a Florida woman and keeping her for weeks as a sex slave at his grandparents' home.

A team of doctors with the federal Bureau of Prisons evaluated Brandon Todd and at a Thursday bail hearing in Rochester declared him mentally fit to stand trial. The woman claims Todd repeatedly raped and assaulted  her before she was able to escape by faking an asthma attack and being taken to Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath.

A decision on whether or not Todd can be released from prison while awaiting trial was delayed.
