Dodgers Bash Braves In NLDS Opener

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw held the Braves to a run on three hits over seven innings with 12 strikeouts as L.A. hammered Atlanta 6-1 in Game One of the NLDS at Turner Field. Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-run home run. Kershaw's strikeout total was the second-most in L.A. franchise postseason history behind Sandy Koufax's 15 in Game One of the 1963 World Series. Brian Wilson and Kenley Jansen each pitched a scoreless innings for the Dodgers in relief. The Dodgers took control early with two runs in both the second and third innings off losing pitcher Kris Medlen. Medlen allowed five runs on nine hits in four innings. Chris Johnson drove in the only run of the game for the Braves. Game Two is Friday night.
