Southern Door High School Makes Cuts

SouthernDoorHighSchoolstudents face many changes this school year. Southern Door has cut transportation and classes, as well as changes to sports.
The school no longer has freshman teams. The only way for freshman to participate in a sport is if they are accepted onto a JV or Varsity team. Andrew Rockwell, a freshman, says that he would have participated in football, but it is too hard to play on JV or Varsity.
Along with the cut to freshman teams, the late bus is no longer available for students staying after school. Sophie Kennedy, a sophmore, says not having a late bus makes it difficult for her to get home and stay after for any extra-curriculars.
The last change for the high school were class cuts. Any class with less than eleven students was cut. Senior Jacob Englebert says he was disappointed when he couldn't take AP Chemistry.
Principle Steve Bousley says that the school disctrict is doing the best they can to minimally impact students, but the cuts had to be made.
Bousley also says he feels things are stable for the school year, but that things will, "get sticky," next year.
