Rochelle woman arrested on drug charges (Updated)

A Rochelle woman is back on the streets today after being arrested on a drug offense early yesterday morning.

24-year old April Burgess was charged with the felony offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. She was also wanted on a Lee County warrant for contempt of court.

The arrest took place in the 400 block of Cherry Avenue in Rochelle. A small amount of cocaine was found in Burgess' possession.

She posted 10 percent of the $5,000 bond set by an Ogle County judge on Saturday. Burgess returns to court on October 25th for an arraignment.
