Public meeting in Dixon next week to talk about 40 million dollar lawsuit settlement

Residents in the City of Dixon will have a chance to voice their viewpoints on how to spend a 40 dollars million settlement involving a lawsuit.
Dixon made national news when the community lost more than 53 million dollars during a nearly 20 year period involving Comptroller Rita Crundwell. The former city official pled guilty to wire fraud and was sentenced to 19 years, 7 months in federal prison.
The town hall meeting will take place this Thursday at 6 at the Loveland Community House on West 2nd street in Dixon.
The city is expected to receive the money by the end of the year. Restitution from federal officials involving the sale of Crundwell's property will also total around 10 million dollars.
