Madigan Hauls Iowa Railroad Into Court

The Illinois Attorney General's office wants to stick an Iowa railroad with the cost of cleaning up a corn syrup spill into the Spoon River.  AG Lisa Madigan filed suit against the Keokuk Junction Railway to force them to clean up the 17-thousand gallons of corn syrup that spilled when a bridge collapsed last month, and six tanker cars fell into the water at Seville.  The spill killed hundreds of fish downstream, many of them Asian carp.  Madigan also wants the railroad to develop an emergency response plan to mitigate damage from future accidents.
