Pink Pumpkins For A Cause

Thecloudsand rain didn’t stop people from stepping out to help raise money and awareness for Door Cancer Inc, in Carlsville Saturday.
As a part of a daylong celebration raising money for DoorCan, Schopf’s Hilltop Dairy joined their neighbors with a unique product. Dennis Schopf, owner of the Hilltop Dairy, explains how they came about growing pink pumpkins this season.
All the proceeds from the sale of the pink pumpkins (which were a minimum $5 donation), food and the host of activities present at Schopf’s will be donated back to Door Cancer Inc. to assist in providing financial assistance to families struggling through difficult times.
Music was provided by popular local country band the Modern Day Drifters; and food was sold by the Pirates of the Carribean, who also graciously donated their proceeds.
Barb Herdina, co-founder and Vice-President of Door Cancer, was also on hand to help sell T-shirts from DoorCountyDailyNews.com and the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, with all of those proceeds also going back to her organization. She is grateful to groups, like the Schopf family, for their continued support and dedication to the cause.
The event ran from 11:00am until 3:00pm.
