Ovid Woman Killed in Sunday Accident

A 20 year old Ovid woman was killed in a two car accident on Route 336 in the town of Fayette Sunday afternoon. 

18 year old Janet Freed of Ovid was traveling west and was beginning to turn left into a driveway, when she pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle.  That car, driven by 35 year old Elaine Hilliard of Waterloo, struck the passenger side of Freed's car. 

Esther Freed had to be extricated from the front passenger seat by Fayette firefighters and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where she died from internal injuries.  Janet Freed was not injured and Hilliard was treated at Geneva General Hospital for wrist and knee pain. 

Investigators with the Seneca County Sheriff's Office believe the younger Freed never saw the Hilliard car approaching.
