New guidelines show different recommendations about getting a child's blood pressure checked. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force says there's not enough evidence to recommend routine screenings if they don't show symptoms of hypertension. The task force recommendation goes against recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. They say regular blood pressure screenings should start at age three. The task force guidelines can be found in the journal "Pediatrics."
