Accident Claims S. IL Coal Miner

A miner from southern Illinois is dead following a weekend accident in White County. Authorities say 47-year-old Robert Smith of Norris City was killed in Saturday's accident in an underground coal mine. Smith was riding in a cart at White County Coal in Carmi when it veered off the tracks and overturned. The accident is being investigated by state and federal officials.
