The federal shutdown didn't keep firefighters from across the nation from honoring 81 men and women at the 32nd annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Maryland on Sunday.  Former Sheridan Fire Chief Ronald Keddie and two fighters who were killed during an ambush in Webster, New York were honored.  Keddie, a Vietnam veteran and state fire instructor whose firefighting career spanned more than 40 years, was responding to a crash in June of 2012 when he suffered a massive heart attack.  The names of the firefighters honored have been engraved on a plaque that will eventually be placed at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
