Representative Bustos stated over the weekend that she is rejecting her paycheck during the Government Shutdown to show support for furloughed workers across the country and the 3000 workers at the Rock Island Arsenal. Along with Representative Dave Loebsack, Rep. Bustos crafted a bill that will guarantee back pay for furloughed workers, a move aimed at dampening the impact of the shutdown on businesses that cater to Arsenal workers. Among the other topics of the interview Rep. Bustos claims there is a simple fix to the Government Shutdown, voting on the so-called 'Clean Bill' aimed at raising the debt ceiling and funding the government and she laid out a nightmare scenario of what might happen if the government defaults on October 17th.
