Farmers Reminded To File Insurance Claims

Oct 8, 2013 6:09 AM

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and state emergency management officials are reminding farmers affected by recent severe weather to file an insurance claim before harvesting or destroying any crops.  In addition to filing, taking photos of damaged crops and buildings can help document the damage. When USDA Farm Service Agency offices reopen following the federal government shutdown, farmers should follow the usual damage-reporting process and contact their local FSA office.
