Updated: Serious injury accident near Honda Plant

A driver suffered serious injuries in a T-Bone crash on State Route 347 in front of the Honda East Liberty Plant Tuesday morning around 6:20.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Maria Combs, 28, of Marion, was driving a 1999 Chrysler LHS westbound when she turned in front of an eastbound 2005 Ford Mustang operated by Corey Drake, 25, of 1401 Wilgus Street, Bellefontaine.

Combs, who was attempting to enter Gate N, suffered incapacitating injuries. She was transported to Union County Memorial Hospital in Marysville by Perry Township EMS.

Drake had minor injuries, but he was not transported by a squad.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Combs was cited for failure to yield.

Both vehicles suffered disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

It's the second injury accident in front of the plant in the last two weeks.
