Kewanee Named Most Friendliest City By Rand McNally

After several weeks of online voting, map publisher Rand McNally has released the winning cities in their 2013 Best of the Road Program. Finalist cities demonstrated to judges through words, pictures, and video on why they deserved to win their respective category. When all was said and done, Kewanee was named the Best Of The Best in the category of Most Friendliest.

, Executive Director of the Kewanee Development Corporation, says he was completely surprised the City of Kewanee was selected as one of the winners….

Medley admits he’s not sure how the city of Kewanee was nominated in the first place for the Best of the Road program, but says a former resident of Kewanee spearheaded the effort while she was in the city helping with the Walldogs Festival in July and during Hog Days over Labor Day weekend….
