ADM Eyes Minnesota As New Home

Oct 9, 2013 6:50 AM

ADM is apparently weighing it’s options when it comes to finding a new home for its headquarters. Company officials reportedly visited the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnesota area yesterday. The visit comes just weeks after the Ag-giant asked Illinois officials for a 24-million-dollar tax-break to move to Chicago, but that idea didn’t sit well with state lawmakers.

Officials in Minnesota have been courting the company, claiming it would be an ideal location because it houses other food giants like Cargill, General Mills, Land ‘O Lakes, and Hormel. That also means the area could be rich with the type of skilled workers ADM is looking for. ADM was founded in Minneapolis but it moved to Decatur more than 40-years ago. Company officials aren’t saying what other locations they’re looking at, but they say they want a big city that can give them quick access to their international clients.
