Cross Disagrees with "Ban The Box" Order

StaterepTomCross doesn’t like the idea that state agencies will no longer ask job applicants about their criminal histories.

Governor Quinn issued the order, aimed at giving criminals a fair shot at employment and a second chance at life. Cross says he doesn’t disagree with giving second chances in certain cases.

He says this could be a waste of time and money for workers who have to sift through applications.

Cross says it’s just common sense to require a job applicant to disclose their violent felony convictions on job applications. He calls the new rule a "poor decision" which contributes to the lack of confidence in state government.
