Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall understands he's going to turn heads when he speaks out, given his well-publicized struggles with mental illness.

He also wanted to make a few things clear. His illness is behind him. It's important to express himself and he wants the ball.

Marshall wasn't backing down on Tuesday after venting a bit about a lack of catches in Sunday's loss to New Orleans. He says he's "not a politician" while adding he's "paid to make plays."

The Bears are coming off back-to-back losses after a 3-0 start, with the winless New York Giants coming to Soldier Field on Thursday night, and Marshall clearly wants to be more involved after being neutralized by the Saints.

(Lake Forest, IL) -- Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he will be "going green" during Thursday night's game against the New York Giants. Marshall will wear green shoes to promote his foundation, which focuses on mental illness. The 29-year-old was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2011. Marshall has also promised to double the fine that is sure to come from the NFL for violating the uniform policy. The eight-year veteran also says he's not looking to take away from the NFL's October-long effort to promote breast cancer awareness by having players wear pink. He intends to partner with a cancer-care charity to donate money as well.

(Undated) -- A trip to London could be in the cards for the Bears next season. The NFL has announced that the Atlanta Falcons are one of three teams that will "host" games at Wembley Stadium next year, and Chicago is scheduled to visit Atlanta as a part of the rotation. It would be the Bears' second game in London in four years.

(Atlanta, GA) -- A foot injury may keep Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones from playing again this year. Falcons head coach Mike Smith says the third-year wideout will be evaluated further on Wednesday, but the results from his first examination are not very promising. The Pro Bowl receiver had eight catches for 99 yards in Monday night's loss to the New York Jets. Jones has 41 receptions for 580 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Falcons are off to a 1-and-4 start this year.

(Houston, TX) -- Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is battling more than opposing defenses these days, he's also batting his own fans. Sports Radio 610 in Houston reports that angry fans approached the QB at his home on Tuesday evening. The report says that one fan had words with Schaub while another took pictures of his family that ended up on Facebook. Houston Police were contacted about the issue, but the irate fans left the scene before officers could respond. Schaub has been under intense scrutiny after the team's 2-and-3 start which has included him throwing an interception that has been returned for a touchdown in an NFL-record four straight games. Houston hosts the St. Louis Rams this Sunday at Reliant Stadium.

(Houston, TX) -- Already mired in a three-game losing streak, the Texans will be without an offensive weapon for an extended period of time. The "Houston Chronicle" reports tight end Owen Daniels may be sidelined as long as two months with a broken fibula. He suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Daniels has 24 receptions for 252 yards and three touchdowns this season. Garrett Graham is Daniels' backup.
