A Chana man pled not guilty in Ogle County court Wednesday following an alcohol related car vs school bus crash in rural Rochelle last month.
66-year old Neel Hanke has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated DUI.
Illinois State Police report that on September 19th, the sports utility vehicle Hanke was driving failed to stop at the intersection of Hemstock and Center Roads in rural Rochelle. The SUV crashed into a Rochelle school bus.
2 teens received treatment for minor injuries at Rochelle Community Hospital following the accident.
In court yesterday, probable cause was found by the judge as Hanke demanded a jury trial. He returns to court on November 12th for a pre-trial conference.
Hanke is out of jail following the posting of 10 percent of a $100,000 bond.
He does have 2 prior DUI convictions on his record.
