CBS has cancelled the Monday night sitcom "We Are Men" starring Tony Shalhoub, Kal Penn and Jerry O'Connell. The series following the travails of a group of single guys living in a bachelor apartment building failed to hold the audience of its lead-in comedy "How I Met Your Mother" and was damaging the numbers of its lead-out series "2 Broke Girls" which had been a solid performer for CBS. "2 Broke Girls" will now move back to its more comfortable space behind 'Mother' while the reliable but not spectacular "Mike & Molly" returns to the lineup in November. Until 'M & M' comes back an even more viable replacement should help the entire Monday comedy lineup, reruns of "The Big Bang Theory," which have thus far outperformed most new sitcoms on just about every network.
