Plans to renovate the former Colonial Bakery building on Landmarks Boulevard in Alton are apparently on again. Last November, the Alton City Council unanimously approved a plan that would have seen the building turned into a gun shop and firing range. Environmental issues caused the plan to be scrapped earlier this year, but it looks like those issues have been resolved and Piasa Armory is again moving forward with the original plan.
A plan to move to Godfrey didn't pan out, so business owner Scott Pulaski and the current land owner at the former bakery worked to get the property ready for sale, according to Pulaski.
