Carry Permits Issue Dates Pushed Back

People who want to carry guns in public can start applying for permits in January, but the permits won’t likely be issued until April. That’s a couple weeks behind the originally scheduled March date. Gun shop owner and concealed carry trainer Scott Pulaski of Godfrey's Pulaski Firearm Services and Piasa Armory says the Illinois State Police are running behind on putting a training curriculum in place.

Pulaski comments

People will need to have at least eight hours of training on things like how to shoot, handle, and store a gun before they can get a permit. Classes are expected to begin in the next few weeks.
