Oct 10, 2013 6:31 AM

The Davenport City Council voted on Wednesday night to move ahead with one projects and stall another. The development along Davenport's riverfront, The Dock Complex, will move forward with a new Dock Restaurant along with new retail space and office space at 125 South Perry Street. A rendering of the new development is pictured below. On the other hand, a zoning change that would have allowed development on the site of the former K's Merchandise building on Kimberly Road was halted following complaints from neighbors. Some 20 residents in the neighborhood spoke to the council and asked that the build ing not be turned into a warehouse, siting concerns about having large trucks moving in and out of the neighborhood. The City Council will work with the owner of the former K's Merchandise to find a suitable tenant for the property.
