Quad Cities Restaurant Featured on Cable Cooking Show 'Restaurant Impossible'

The Food Network series "Restaurant Impossible" featuring Chef Robert Irvine was in the Quad Cities the last few days helping to turn around the fortunes of a struggling Rock Island restaurant. Goombazz, located at 2704 18th Avenue in Rock Island had started strong on it's debut but had tailed off in recent months to the point where the Owners finally reached out to "Restaurant Impossible" which selects only a few restaurants a year nationwide. To be chosen, restaurant owners must submit an entry and have a compelling story to tell. The series takes Chef Irvine all over the country fixing broken businessses with just 3 days and $10,000 and has become a reliable hit show for The Food Network which uses the show as an anchor on Sunday nights and reruns as a lead-in to regular weekly programming on Wednesday nights; a sign of the show's ratings impact. According to Food Network representative, no date has been set as of yet for airing the Goombazz episode of "Restaurant Impossible."
