Healthofficialsare urging kids to take a day and walk to school. Illinois Public Health Director LaMar Hasbrouck says the exercise will be good for them, especially because childhood obesity is on the rise.
Hasbrouck says kids should be getting at least an hour's-worth of exercise every day.
Hasbrouck says kids should take advantage of every opportunity to work out. He understands walking to school can be a challenge in some areas, but he urges communities to work together to find safe routes for the kids.
