Walker Unveils Property Tax Cut

Governor Scott Walker unveiled what’s he’s calling a $100-million property tax cut in Madison today (Thursday) and called for a special session of the legislature to consider it next week. The Governor says it will save the average homeowner $480 over four years.

The non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau says the tax cut would save the owner of a $150,000 home $13 next year, and $20 in 2014.

The tax cut and special session call come two days after Mary Burke announced she would be running for Governor as a Democrat against Republican Walker.
