Reed Campaign Speaks Out on Robertson Email

Congressman Tom Reed’s campaign wants 23rd Congressional District challenger Martha Robertson to return money donated to her campaign September 30th, the result of what they claim was a misleading email. Ian Prior with the National Republican Congressional Committee spoke to us this week about the email and explained what the controversy stemmed from.

Several attempts by WFLR and other local media outlets to get an explanation from the Robertson campaign have failed. A New York Daily News article on the issue this week quotes a Washington lawyer saying if Robertson lied to solicit campaign donations, she could be in violation of federal law and wire fraud charges could be filed.
