Godfrey Rec Center Feasibility Study and Resident Priorities

Godfrey Director of Economic Development Jim Mager joins Sydney Sinks on Our Daily Show to discuss the Village’s feasibility study for a proposed recreation center and what residents say they want from it. A consultant-led study includes questionnaires and site selection; results were still being tabulated, and no decision on a center had been made. Mager says potential features and costs will need to be weighed against what the community can afford, with possible taxes or user fees among the funding considerations raised in focus groups.

Mager also compares feedback from younger and longer-term Godfrey residents on local shopping and dining, cultural events, recreation fields and the community’s comprehensive plan. He discusses preparing an ordinance for possible future data center proposals, Godfrey’s monthly The Villager newsletter, and the Great Godfrey Maze, including its haunted option.
