Momma’s Free Swap seeks donations for Thanksgiving food baskets in the Riverbend

Ashley Santoni, administrator of the local Momma’s Free Swap Facebook group, discusses the group’s work connecting moms and families with free, gently used items and its Thanksgiving food drive. After collecting 18 baskets last year, she hopes to assemble 20 to 25 this year, with each basket intended to feed a family of 10.

Donations of nonperishable Thanksgiving food items can be dropped off at Cleary’s Shoes in Wood River, Dolce’s Cafe in Alton, and Trust Family Auto Sales in Godfrey. Ashley says collection is expected to continue through November 7 so the baskets can be prepared for pickup. The interview also covers the group’s local focus, its community connections, and Ashley’s goal of eventually becoming a nonprofit.
