Greater Godfrey Democrats Discuss Community Outreach, Open Meetings and Voter Engagement

Craig Rathgeb of the Greater Godfrey Democrats explains how the local Democratic precinct committee represents Godfrey and parts of Fosterburg, and discusses its community outreach, canvassing and voter engagement efforts. He describes the group’s approach to talking with residents and candidates face-to-face, including efforts to keep political conversations civil and focused on issues.

The interview also covers the committee’s public meeting format and monthly meetings at IBEW Local 649 on the second Monday of each month. Craig says residents are welcome to attend the public portion, share concerns and hear from candidates. He also discusses the group’s work encouraging people to vote and thanks volunteers and community members who have spoken with canvassers.
