A Place of Grace: Creative Spiritual Retreats in Wood River

Julie Gvillo, pastor of A Place of Grace, explains how the Presbyterian Church USA new worshiping community uses creative spiritual practices to nurture connection, healing and prayer. Based at Vondel Gallery and Studios in Wood River, its offerings include art journaling, music and listening, psalm writing, movement, family activities and community mission projects.

Tuesdays offer an open-house retreat from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with activities visitors can join for as long as they are able. A Place of Grace also holds Wednesday morning Mission Madness retreats twice a month with local agencies. The program uses an offering-based model: visitors contribute what they can.
