Heaterz Hot Chicken Plans Alton Riverfront Location at Former Flock

Heaterz Hot Chicken is set to take over the Flock site on Alton’s riverfront, bringing an Alton-born business to a new location with a drive-through model. Company representatives described the move as the next chapter for Heaters and outlined plans to make the site welcoming for families and pets, with a playground, dog-friendly area and oversized screen among the ideas discussed.

The team said work is expected to begin around the start of the new year, with the location targeted to open in late spring 2027. Plans call for the site to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with Heaterz as its anchor and community events and activities also envisioned.

The announcement also recognized Flock’s five years at the site. Its team plans to host a final fall and holiday season, including its Flocked winter setup, before the transition.
