The number of Labor Day weekend traffic fatalities in Illinois has dropped from previous years, according to the Illinois State Police. Preliminary data released shows five traffic fatalities this year during the Labor Day weekend.

In 2016 there were 23 fatalities, in 2015 there were 13, and in 2014 there were 16.
