Lewis and Clark Expedition Anniversary Celebration This Weekend

The Lewis and Clark State Historic Site will be hosting a celebration this weekend, marking the 214th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition's arrival at their Illinois winter camp. The "Arrival at Camp River Dubois" celebration will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature re-enactors, exhibits showcasing antique tools and weaponry, and furs and minerals Lewis and Clark found on their expedition in the Louisiana Territory.

 

Lewis and Clark State Historic Site Manager Brad Winn, tells the Big Z, the event is a great way to learn about the historic expedition.
