A local Wood River, IL landmark is making its mark for charity. Marcie & Co. Family Hair Salon of Wood River is hosting a Cut-A-Thon to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19th, and continue until 4:00 p.m., and includes haircuts for donations, basket raffles, chair massages, food and a silent auction. Proceeds from this event go to the Drury Darlings Great Strides Team for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Drury Darlings, Ella Drury, 6 years old, and Charlotte Drury, 2 years old, both have cystic fibrosis and both love getting their hair cut by Marcie Meyers at Marcie & Co. Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening, genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. The current life expectancy for individuals with CF is 37, but the Drury Darlings Team is walking to make that life expectancy grow. Come out this Saturday, April 19th, to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and have a great time as well.
