Children have less cluttered minds than adults. They are inventive with materials and ways of telling a story. They are comfortable, before a certain age, with symbols and abstraction, with color having extended meanings, fluid boundaries, invented spacial constructs. Trained artists often envy and emulate styles and devices used universally by children who are expressing themselves in 2d and 3d media. What can we learn from the art of children?
