Candidates for Wood River Mayor and City Council will be at the library to answer questions and talk about concerns.
Mayoral Candidates- 2:00-3:00 City Council Candidates- 3:00-4:00
This is an informal, friendly event meant for simply meeting the candidates running for Wood River Mayor and City Council positions. This is not a debate, forum, or town-hall style meeting where candidates give speeches, are grilled about their policies and platforms, or are attacked negatively. Each of the candidates has graciously agreed to participate in this voluntary event. As such, we ask that all participants respect the candidates and the following rules.
1. Please refrain from any politicking/electioneering for a particular candidate during the event. 2. No negative comments about a candidate are allowed. If a person is overhead making such comments during the event they will be asked to leave. 3. Please do not grill, harass, or otherwise demand answers about a candidates' platform, beliefs, or background. 4. You may ask candidates questions. However, please allow them the opportunity to respond to you at a later date if they would prefer.
A library staff member will be in the meeting room at all times during this event to monitor activity and step-in when necessary. If you have any questions, concerns, or hear any negative comments, please alert the staff member immediately.
