ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 27-22-25, MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 25-25-20: Marquette played at home against Althoff Catholic on Thursday night, Sept. 17, and lost a close one.
The Explorers freshmen and JV both won in 3 sets.
Varsity standouts for Marquette on Thursday included Brooke Keller with 16 assists and Mia Moore with 7 kills.

Lady Kahok Volleyball Finals at Belleville East:
BELLEVILLE EAST 25-25, COLLINSVILLE 20-20
Collinsville stayed with Belleville East on Thursday but fell 25-20, 25-20. Belleville won its 10th match of the season.
Avery Johnson had 4 kills to lead the Kahoks, Jocelyn Johnson had 2 kills and Zykia McMorris had 2 kills.
JERSEY WINS FRESHMAN/JV MATCHES, BUT FALLS IN VARSITY MATCH TO PIASA BIRDS
JCHS F/JV/V Volleyball hosted Southwestern. The Freshman Panthers picked up a 2-set victory over the Birds, winning 21-14 and 21-16. The JV squad showcased incredible resilience after falling behind early in the first set, battling back to take the second set 25-15 and edge out a 15-12 victory in the deciding third set for the win. The Varsity won the first set, 26-24. The Panthers fought hard, but Southwestern claimed the next two sets 22-25 and 20-25 to take the match.
BOYS SOCCER
In the boys soccer fixtures that were played on Thursday, Civic Memorial and Breese Mater Dei Catholic shared the points in a 2-2 draw, Belleville Althoff Catholic won over Maryville Christian 2-0, in the Belleville Derby, West got past East 4-3, Mascoutah defeated Freeburg 3-1, Columbia nipped Marquette Catholic 2-1, O'Fallon got past Alton 5-0, and Triad won at Collinsville 4-1.

In the results from the volleyball courts on Thursday, Belleville West won over Alton 25-10, 25-20, O'Fallon took a 25-12, 25-8 win over Granite City, Belleville East got past Collinsville 25-20, 25-20, Civic Memorial won over East Alton-Wood River 25-17, 25-16, Mascoutah won over East St. Louis 25-6, 25-15, Red Bud defeated Carlyle 25-15, 25-21, Columbia won at Jersey 25-11, 25-17, Belleville Althoff Catholic took the measure of Marquette Catholic 27-25, 22-25, 25-20, In another three setter, Triad nipped Edwardsville 25-21, 25-27, 25-18, and Father McGivney Catholic swept Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 25-6, 25-15.
JERSEY ATHLETICS
JCHS JV Football traveled to Civic Memorial to take on the Eagles, falling short 13-27. The Panthers found the end zone twice, with Grayson Mangara breaking loose for a long rushing touchdown and Logan Strebel hauling in a long touchdown pass from Blake Jones. The Panther defense came up with several key interceptions, courtesy of Joey Wegierski and Carson Johnson.
JCMS Baseball wrapped up the regular season in exciting fashion, defeating Southwestern 15-10! The Panthers put together a 13-hit attack, led by Arthur Fallin, who collected 3 hits, including 2 doubles and a triple, while driving in 4 runs. Grayson Smith and Kellen Woolsey added 2 hits each, and Layne Goetten drove in 4 runs. Congratulations to the Panthers on an incredible accomplishment as they finish their first year in the MEAC Conference as MEAC Conference Champions! The Panthers close out the regular season with an impressive 10-3 overall record. Way to go, Panthers.
